About Jeannine

I have been working in private practice for a little over 8 years, having previously worked in child protection and in a consultant capacity in the corporate world. I also have 8 years experience working in residential aged care in a managerial position, counselling residents and families, providing clinical supervision to a team of 13 social workers, as well as offering informal counselling to staff.

I have a particular interest and skills in the area of trauma, including early childhood trauma. I have undertaken fairly extensive training in the field with both local and international experts.

I have worked successfully with clients ranging in age from 17 to 90, as well as with couples.

I have previously also run parenting training groups and am competent in helping people address parenting issues.

Pro Bono work/experience in area of mental health.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Social Work from the University of Cape Town in South Africa
• Masters degree in Social Work (Counselling) from the University of New South Wales in Sydney.
• Post Graduate Diploma in Management from the Graduate School of Business, University of the Witwatersrand in South Africa.
• Accredited Mental Health worker registered with Medicare,
• Member of the AASW (Australian Association of Social Workers).
